New Characters From Hetalia 4
If you are an anime fan or cosplayer, you definitely are familiar with this anime. This new anime is very popular nowadays. It has been a hot topic in the talks around the anime fans and a frequent choice for female cosplayer. Now, there is the good news for the Hetalia followers. Anime season is under processing and will be released soon.
To tell the truth, I am not a Hetalia enthusiast. I think it is more suitable for the female than the male. That is my opinion. And I figure it out that my friends who like the series are most girls. And the cosplayers and the cosplay pictures are almost the female. So, this is a shoujo manga. Maybe there are some guys disagree with me. But what I say comes from what I have experienced. Hetalia is not my style. No matter how popular it is, I may not have much interest in it.
Though I am not crazy for Hetalia, there is the reason that lots of people like it. So, I am trying to figure it out. What is the reason? Firstly, maybe I should find out what is Hetalia. It even took me a lot of time to explore the original of the series. You know, I am a dedication man.
It is firstly a popular webcomic written by Hidekaz Himaruya. Then it is adapted as a manga and an anime. And the Hetalia 4 in the title is about the anime season 4. This series presents an allegorical interpretation of political and historic events during the World War II, in which the countries are portrayed by the anthropomorphic roles. And the Hetalia itself has some special implication. Heta is the meaning of incompetent and the whole word is combining heta and Italia. So it is a satire to the Italia.
The series was originally created as an online comic, and after its release, it caused a hot attention. Lots of girls watched it and discussed it. Then the new manga is released, the first two in 2008, and the third in 2010. As following, the anime is released out soon. I mean that suddenly Hetalia is filled with the anime world, cosplay field. I have no idea of it before. I even think it is just a video game or something.
After a long time of thinking, I guess I found the key to the success of the comic. It is said that the series often uses satire and comedy to depict well-known historical events as well as historical and cultural trivia. Historical political and military intreraction between countries is allegorically represented in Hetalias as social and romantic interaction between the characters. As the wikipedia saying, I guess this is the important factor which makes the series so successful. History is always a serious topic and there is little of such kind anime telling the political story. And, Hetalia tells the history political and cultural stories with a easy way, this is the key to its success.
Cosplay Denmark and Norway is the next hot topic in the cosplay cons, I guess, because Hetalia 4 is coming out soon, and Denmark and Norway are the added new characters in the new sequel. So, whatever, I just hope the cosplayers from this series dress cool, I may take a shot.
