anime convention question?

should your costum relate to the anime convention’s theme? im going to go to the JAFAX one in michigan. Its my first one and i was wondering is i should dress to the theme or does it not matter?

When it comes to Conventions of any kind, the rules are simple: Have fun, be polite and dress as whatever character you want to be going as. Also, NO WEAPONS!!! Yes, I’ve actually been to a few where a couple of dumb nuts brought REAL swords with their costumes. So long as your costume is one that the character you enjoy the most wore at one point in time(even if it was only in one panel), then you’re good to go.
