Five Best Ways To Learn Japanese

If you are interested in learning Japanese, you might be wondering what is the best way to study it. The classroom or a textbook is not the only way to learn. Keep reading to learn some interesting ways you can start studying the Japanese language.

First, Read over some Japanese Manga. “Manga” is a term used for Japanese comics. These kinds of comics are not only for kids but for adults too. On their way to work, you’ll often see businessmen take out a copy of their favorite Manga on the train. Manga could make your casual Japanese better and it is full of casual Japanese and slang that you probably won’t find in many textbooks.

The second thing to try and do is to visit restaurants that serve Japanese food. By going to a Japanese restaurant, you can practice you reading and speaking skills. It will be easy to test if you can read the words for Japanese foods because the menu is often in Japanese. Impress your waiter by placing your order in Japanese. You can practice some words simple like “Thank-You” (arigatou) if you aren’t able to order in Japanese.

Third, read some local Japanese magazine. You will find free Japanese newspapers or magazines in large cities around the world where there is a Japanese community. These reading materials are aimed at the local Japanese community. You will probably be able to work out what a few of the articles and advertisements are about even if you only know a few characters of hiragana, katakana, and kanji. It could be wonderful if you can understand a few words and symbols and used them in real situations.

Fourth, learn Japanese on your PC. Using a computer is great because it could help you learn the language and pronunciation. You can buy a computer program or you can download one from free websites that have games or other methods to help you learn and understand. You will find applications for the iPhone or iPod that can help you learn Japanese.

Fifth, pay a visit to Japan. This is one of the best ways to learn the Japanese language firsthand. You’ll be surprised at how fast you can pick up the language if you are in the actual country. A homestay is a great way to meet some people and you can force yourself to speak Japanese in a real-world setting.

You can learn Japanese with these five unorthodox tips. If you’re imaginative, I’m pretty sure you can think of other ways to learn Japanese in a fun day.
