Top Korean MMORPG and MMO Games – the first Part

1.Xkick Online

Xkick Online is a revolutionary football or soccer based MMO that has taken the world by storm. The game will be entering open beta very soon and has a lot of promise and potential after receiving excellent reviews by gamers and journalists. Xkick Online mixes football with street based football or futsal allowing players to perform many skills and beat their opponents, while having fun and enjoying this new game concept. Teamwork is very much necessary in this game and players can team up with each other or play solo and defeat the AI or other players. Character positioning and advancing of the character’s skills and abilities is a major part of this game. This is done via winning games and building the team’s moral. The controls for Xkick Online are slick and smooth and mix well with the detailed graphics. At the moment, latency is a minor problem but it should be fixed very soon. Players can also choose their own goal celebration which adds some fun to the game. Overall, Xkick takes on a whole new look on gaming with a fresh and much needed concept and will hopefully flourish.

2.Kabod Online

Kabod Online is a new MMORPG that is going to hit the market very soon and its main factor is being 18+ and is set to be a blockbuster in the Korean MMORPG market. The game takes on an entirely new concept with beautiful but gory graphics and intense combat and game play. There are many things which set this game apart from others. One thing that stands out is that the game promotes Pking via the ‘crime system’. Players can kill other at any point in time and loot their dead bodies. As they continue to gain more kills, they will gain special titles and because renown in the world of Kabod. However, there are NPCs who are out to kill you so making a bad decision is very costly. Another weird factor of this game is that the game also promotes relationships and in game characters actually kiss and hug. The most disturbing feature though, is that everytime a character is beaten down badly enough, his or her clothes will begin to shed leaving them bare naked! The game also has a lot of gambling involved. Overall, Kabod looks like a nice game with good graphics but I think the goriness will hold it back a little bit. Kabod began its first beta test on July 15th.

3.Raiderz Online

Raiderz Online is an MMORPG that was recently announced by Neowiz and is set to enter alpha and beta phases at the end of 2010. Players begin their journey on the planet of Velix and have the daunting task of exploring these lands for enemy creatures and other players. As the game’s name shows, the main objective of the game is consistently raiding and completing dungeons so players can obtain the best gear and then move on to the PVP parts of the game. During an interview, the developers said they had tried to convey the uniqueness and specialty of Gunz onto this game with its large amount of quests. The game play is based on non-targeting and quick reactions are needed. Players must kill monsters called Epic Monsters to obtain gold, experience and items to equip their character with. Groups will be a major part of this game as players must team up to do raids. One special thing about the game is that the game does not have a class system and that players can learn all the skills that the game has to offer. Raiderz shows a lot of potential for a F2P MMO and I am anticipating a good game.

4.Soul Master Online
Soul Master is an MMORTS(Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy) brought to us by Gamescampus. It will become one of the few MMORTSs on the market and will try to bring innovative and fresh designs into games which will set this game apart from all others. The game is set to enter closed beta in June. The game will allow for incredibly fast paces combat as players control a specific hero and hundreds of minions. They will command these units into war and defeat their enemies like you play browser games. There are hundreds of missions for players to complete. The game is squad based and will allow for players to team up together and conquer their foes. There will also be a Player vs Player mode in which enormous battles will take place and players will get reputation in this world. The game will also allow for massive customization of characters that will open the game world and have it more balanced. Soul Masters is currently in closed beta phase and has obtained great reviews for its uniqueness. I cannot wait for open beta!

5.Tera Online
Tera Online is an upcoming P2P MMORPG that is said to be the first ‘true’ MMORPG. Players will fight for the pride of the valkryan and battle for pride and glory with action filled game play and beautiful graphics. Tera stands out for its amazing graphics and is said to be a next-gen MMO as it brings unseen things to the world of MMOs. Players must join and become heroes and save the world of TERA. There are six different races, each with its own capabilities and weaknesses which balances the game out very well. The races are surprisingly unique to this game rather than the other regular races of other MMOs. There are eight classes for players to choose from which have their own pros and cons in PVP and PVE. The game is not heavily based on either PVP or PVE but is very fun in both departments. Tera has a lot of promise and might just be the first next gen MMORPG.

Each race has its own specific origin and has its own skills to use in battle. These three races are in war but friendly alliances can be formed. Gala-Net, one of the biggest MMORPG portals who runs Allods and other popular MMORPGs has recently announced Iris Online, a cutesy or anime styled MMO. Iris blends medieval fantasy elements with Gypsy ethnic groups and offers three playable races along with hundreds of quests, raids and PVP. Another good point of Iris Online is the selling card where players use they Tarot Cards for special abilities and equipment. The game’s graphics are very detailed and interesting and shows massive potential in the MMO world, offering balanced PVE and PVP. The PVE is the main focus though, as players will group up and defeat bosses and raid dungeons for experience and simply, for fun. PVP is another factor and the game offers open PK among the three different races as well as battlegrounds and many different events. Overall, Iris has blown away the Asian countries and could blow away Europe and America, so keep up to date with us.

8.Prison Tale 2
Priston Tale is one of the most successful and the predecessor does not let anyone down in anyway. PrisonTale 2 revamps the entire game giving players thousands of quests and 3 playable races, including the recently released Sophetio. Players will explore a vast fantasy world where battles will be fought and friends will be made. The combat system stands out in this game and is very intense as it is combo based. This means players will mix their skills with regular attacks to hit the opponents hard. The game also offers competitive PVE and PVP combat such as tournaments and events. It has hundreds of raids and dungeons to offer and has advanced party play and guild management. Players will team up in a party and conquer their enemies to gain loot and experience. This game unfortunately IP blocks the US and other countries in the area but Europe and Asia are free to play with no IP problems. Prison Tale 2 does not let down its players and has a lot to offer, so check it out.

9.N.E.O Online
N.E.O Online is a free 3D fantasy MMORPG with a highly customizable progression system where players can use any weapon in the game without having any problems. Players can craft, trade, train pets and much more in this expansive world. The game’s PVP offers battlegrounds, duels and open PVP in some areas where players war for turf. There is also a marriage or relationship agreement which players can sign in game and when the two people play together, they obtain a large number of bonuses. The game play is extremely fluid and the game’s graphics are very impressive. The game feels similar to other games but stands out in a few ways such as the unique character growth and the amount of other things a player can do, such as collect and craft. Overall, N.E.O Online is a game where the player can do whatever he likes in a beautifully crafted environment and deserves a try.

10.Erebus:Trivia Reborn

Erebus is Outspark’s latest MMO that takes place in a dark world where players will enjoy a riveting storyline along with hundreds of other players. The combat and action is non-stop as there is open PVP where players can betray their guildmates or fight alongside them in massive guild battles. Players will be able to customize their hero and many different ways and equip their characters with legendary items. There are four classes that are playable at the moment. Each class has its pros and cons and the game is very well balanced. It has just finished its Closed Beta phase and will be entering Open Beta in the coming future. Stick with us as well will constantly cover Erebus until its release.
