The history of cartoons

A cartoon in the dictionary describes as "a simple drawing that shows the characteristics of their issues in a humorously exaggerated. " Cartoons have evolved from its origins as a satirical preparatory drawings for newspapers and magazines in the 1800s, and more recently to an exaggerated representation of life as shown by modern examples such as The Simpsons.

Warner Bros. began shortly after the creation of Disney and would introduce the world to an incredible number of characters that are still popular today.

Bugs Bunny first appeared on screen in animation, 1940 A Wild Hare. In 2002, Bugs Bunny was named by one magazine as the most popular television cartoon character greatest of all time. Other popular characters includes Speedy Warner Bros. Gonzales, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.

Another popular company to produce cartoons was the U.S. company Hanna-Barbera. Responsible for some of the animated series most respected in the latter part of the 20th century, Hanna-Barbera produced classics like Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones. These animations will influence some of the most successful century, such as cartoons began to imitate real life and have more realistic characters instead of animals or fantasy stories of Disney and Warner Bros.

As the animated film became the most common place to find cartoon characters, style, themes and techniques changed dramatically. The Simpsons and South Park represent the current crop of exciting and contemporary cartoons that will influence the future cartoons. Already there are countless cartoons other issues provided the style and mood of these two pace-setters, with the likes of Family Guy, American Dad and Futurama continuing the trend.

However, Disney has been opting for computer animation, with its more recent films like Ratatouille, Finding Nemo and WALL-E.
